Welcome! I’m Dr. Shenay Jeffrey, and I’m running for Swissvale Borough Council because I believe in the power of community. When we come together, we can create a safer, more inclusive, and economically thriving Swissvale for all.
As a homeowner, community engagement professional, and advocate for equity, I have seen firsthand the challenges and opportunities in our borough. I am committed to ensuring every resident’s voice is heard, every neighborhood is valued, and every business has the opportunity to succeed.

Dr. Shenay Jeffrey is a justice-oriented community engagement leader with over 15 years of experience in advancing equity, fostering strategic partnerships, and building stronger communities. Her career has been dedicated to driving inclusive collaborations, supporting economic development, and ensuring that all voices are heard in decision-making.
As a Swissvale resident and homeowner, Shenay has witnessed firsthand the impact of gun violence and economic challenges in the community. She is deeply committed to ensuring safety for all, revitalizing the local business district, and championing community engagement. Through her work with various nonprofit organizations, UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh, she has led initiatives that connect organizations, empower residents, and create sustainable community-driven solutions.
Shenay’s leadership is rooted in action and impact—whether by overseeing large-scale volunteer efforts, shaping public policy agendas, or advocating for education and equity. Her work has earned her numerous recognitions, including the Pittsburgh Magazine 40 Under 40 Award, the Iris Marion Young Award for Social Justice, and the Otto A. Davis Award for Social Justice.
